2 Your answers
When you use Get advice, your answers are things like the number of users, your organisation type and the features you need. The recommendation and cost estimate are calculated by code running in your own browser.
- Your answers are not sent to our servers, to Microsoft, to M365 Maps or to anyone else.
- They're not saved. When you close or reload the page, they're gone.
- Shareable links: if you click Copy link or Email link, your answers are written into the link itself (after the
#). Browsers don't send that part of a link to the web server, so the answers still never reach us or our host. Anyone you give the link to can see the answers it contains, so only share it with people you're happy to see them. - Copy summary copies text to your own device's clipboard. Print or save as PDF uses your browser's print window. Neither sends anything to us.
The same applies to Check my licences: the licences, quantities and prices you enter are analysed in your browser and never sent anywhere. If you share a licence-check link, those details are written into the link after the #, so only share it with people you're happy to see them.
Please don't type personal or confidential information into the site. The questions only ask for counts and choices, so there's no need.
3 What's stored on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage for one item:
| Name | What it holds | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
m365la-currency | gbp or usd | Remembers whether you want prices in £ or $ | Until you clear it |
This stays on your device and isn't sent to us. It's strictly necessary to provide a setting you chose, so it doesn't require consent under the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

5 Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. Like any web host, Netlify receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page. This includes your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. Netlify uses this to deliver the site, protect it from abuse and keep it running. We don't use this information to identify you, and we don't combine it with anything else.
Netlify may process this data outside the UK, under its own safeguards. See Netlify's privacy statement for details.
Our lawful basis for this limited processing is legitimate interests: running a secure, working website.
6 Links to other websites
The site links to M365 Maps, Microsoft Learn and other Microsoft pages. These links open in a new tab. Those sites are run by other organisations and have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them. When you follow a link, nothing about your answers is passed to the other site.
7 Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete or object to its use. Because this site doesn't collect your answers or create profiles, we normally hold no personal data about you. Any server logs are held by our hosting provider, as described in section 5.
If you have a concern, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8 Children
This site is meant for organisations choosing business software. It isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.
9 Changes to this notice
If the site changes how it handles information, for example by adding analytics or a contact form, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date before the change goes live.
